Standard Operating Procedure

The goal is to provide handholding support to student, faculty members and rural community from Ideation level to venture creation. With the vision for providing high quality services through young entrepreneurs institute adopted this incubation policy for establishing a successful innovative entrepreneurship model, having the following

Characteristic Features:

  • Entrepreneurship promotion development will be one of the major dimensions of the Bon Secours Foundation for Entrepreneurship Development (BSFED) strategies. To facilitate development of an entrepreneurial ecosystem in the Bon Secours College (BSC) for Women and nearby area, rural community specific objective and associated performance indicator will be periodically defined for assessment.

  • Implementation of entrepreneurial vision in BSFED will be the responsibility of the Directors, CEO and R & D, who will coordinate among various industries and firms.

  • Resource mobilisation plan will be worked out at the BSFED for supporting innovation, pre-incubation, incubation infrastructure and facilities.

  • A sustainable financial strategy will be defined in order to reduce the organizational constraints to work on the entrepreneurial agenda.

  • Minimum fund of the total annual budget of the BSFED under BSC will be allocated for funding and supporting innovation and start-ups related activities through creation of separate 'Innovation fund'.

  • The strategy will also involve raising funds from diverse external funding sources through government (state and central) such as BIRAC, DBT, DST, DSIR, MSME, MHRD, Start-up India etc. as well as non-government organisations.

  • To support technology incubators, BSFED will approach private and corporate sectors to generate funds, under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as per Section 135 of the Company Act 2013.

  • BSFED under BSC will also raise funding through sponsorships and donations and will actively engage alumni network for promoting Innovation & Entrepreneurship.

  • Action plan will be formulated at BSFED, having well-defined short-term and long-term goals.

  • BSFED develops and implement innovation and entrepreneurship strategy and policy for Bon Secours College for Women in order to integrate the entrepreneurial activities across various centre for excellence, departments, faculties, career services within the College, thus breaking the silos.

  • Faculty members also may be allowed study leave / sabbatical as per the statute to attain their goal under BSFED.

  • The timeframe may be left flexible depending upon the nature and extent of efforts required for the completion of the targets.

  • The BSFED is expected to provide handsome equity share, space, infrastructure, mentorship support, seed funds, support for accounts, legal, patents , product development etc.

  • Start-up related activities needs to be considered as a legitimate research based activity of faculty members working in BSC during Performance Appraisal.

  • Incentives and certificates are to be given to innovators for starting such activities.
